Middle Plains Forest is located minutes from the Green Mountain National Forest just off Vermont Route 125. Just north of the property, Route 125 follows boulder-strewn Middlebury River upstream to the higher elevations of the national forest, where Middlebury College’s Breadloaf summer campus is just 7 miles away. Two miles further to the southeast, just below Middlebury Gap, is the college’s Snow Bowl Ski Area.
