With mortgage interest rates dropping in 2019, many new buyers entered the market after remaining on the sidelines. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/home-buying\/dealing-multiple-offers.html\">Multiple offers<\/a> in key areas and price points, continued to push the median and average sale prices up. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/shelburne-real-estate.html\">Shelburne<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/charlotte-real-estate.html\">Charlotte<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/south-burlington-real-estate.html\">South Burlington<\/a> posted the highest median prices in the county while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/winooski-real-estate.html\">Winooski<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/bolton-real-estate.html\">Bolton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/milton-real-estate.html\">Milton<\/a> offered homes below the county median.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2481 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont-market-report\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Chittenden-County-Single-Family.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont-market-report\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Chittenden-County-Single-Family.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont-market-report\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Chittenden-County-Single-Family-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/condos-townhouses-sale-chittenden-county.html\">Condominiums<\/a> remain a more affordable option than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/single-family-homes-sale-chittenden-county.html\">single-family homes in Chittenden County<\/a>. The 8.5% increase in median price may be a result of newly built condos, at higher prices, in addition to the normal affects of supply &amp; demand. Ease of maintenance, the \u201cright size\u201d floorplans and energy efficiency of new condominiums are attractive to families and empty- nesters alike.<\/p>\n<p>In South Burlington, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/hillside-obrien-farm.html\">Hillside at O\u2019Brien Farm<\/a> welcomed 23 new homeowners with 13 more awaiting their dream homes to be completed in 2020. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/south-village.html\">South Village<\/a>, off of Spear Street, may introduce the long-awaited Phase 3 of their \u201cagri-hood\u201d community. Additional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/chittenden-county-new-construction-homes-sale.html\">new construction<\/a> projects in Shelburne, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/essex-real-estate.html\">Essex<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county\/williston-real-estate.html\">Williston<\/a> may ease the inventory shortage slightly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"
