While the price has increased 41% since 2018, the county still provides the most affordable options in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont-property-search-results\/status_active_active-with-contract\/advanced.html\">northwest Vermont<\/a>. More homes were listed for sale during the first half of the year, while condos coming to market increased by nearly 20% by year end. The average days on the market dropped to only 46 days from listing to close for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/single-family-homes-sale-franklin-county.html\">single family homes <\/a>\u2013 so buyers need to be well prepared to act when the right property hits the market. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/st-albans-real-estate.html\">St. Albans<\/a> topped the county in sales by a large margin, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/swanton-real-estate.html\">Swanton<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/fairfax-real-estate.html\">Fairfax<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/georgia-real-estate.html\">Georgia<\/a>. The median sale price of $380,000 in Fairfax was 29% above the county average, but still 14% lower than the median price in nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/chittenden-county.html\">Chittenden County<\/a>. With easy access to I-89, these towns provide options for buyers commuting to work. Traveling east, the towns of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/sheldon-real-estate.html\">Sheldon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/berkshire-real-estate.html\">Berkshire<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/franklin-county\/montgomery-real-estate.html\">Montgomery<\/a> posted significant increases in the number of homes sold in 2021. Work from home opportunities as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hickokandboardman.com\/vermont\/special-markets\/vermont-seasonal-real-estate.html\">vacation home<\/a> purchases may be part of the reason for growth in this area of Franklin County. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3507 \"
