Eileen Townsend, a top producing real estate agent in Greater Burlington & Chittenden County, brings to her real estate career more than 20 years of expertise in marketing, communications and business management — a solid skill set for success in today's competitive real estate environment. Eileen's real estate clients benefit from her personal experience in executive relocation, through which she moved seven times with her family, coast-to-coast and back again, buying and selling real estate in six states, including historic property, new and custom construction, condos and townhouses, and “renovator specials.”
“Whether you're moving up, moving out, or even reluctantly moving on, whatever your concerns are, I've been there,” Eileen says. “It is a personal goal of mine to draw upon my experience to help people anticipate the challenges and make the best of the process of moving — from achieving their financial goals to making the many connections it takes to resettle a family in a new community.”
Eileen has been honored for her professionalism and customer service with numerous achievement awards, most recently Coldwell Banker's Serling Society, recognizing the top 20% of agents internationally. A member of the Vermont Association of Realtors (VAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Eileen holds a Broker's License, is an Accredited Buyer Representative, and has earned the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation, held by just five percent of Realtors nationally, who have attained stringent production and educational goals.
Embracing the value of giving back to the community, Eileen is actively involved with organizations that strengthen Greater Burlington's business and arts communities and humanitarian efforts. She is a 2004 graduate of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) “Leadership Champlain” program, is a trustee for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO), serves on the Burlington Business Association's Programs and Membership Committees, and volunteers for the Champlain Housing Trust's Legacy Campaign.
Eileen obtained her Broker/Realtor license in 2003. Prior to that, Eileen was Director of Marketing and Communications for Saint Michael's College, a position she previously held at Dominican University of California. Eileen began her career as a journalist, working as a newspaper reporter and magazine editor, as Senior Writer and manager for a leading Baltimore, MD Advertising & PR agency, and in corporate and agency public relations and marketing. She has lived and worked in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, MD; Rockford, Illinois; the San Francisco Bay Area; Des Moines, Iowa; Wilmington, Delaware; and here in Vermont. She was raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where she was educated at Stone Ridge Country Day School. Eileen attended the College of William & Mary in Virginia, and holds a B.A. in English Literature and Journalism from the University of Delaware.
Eileen has lived in Bolton, South Burlington and Shelburne, VT. In addition to selling real estate, Eileen enjoys hiking, skiing (Eastern and Western slopes), yoga, travel, and reading. Of choosing Vermont as a home, she says, “I love the Left Coast quality of Burlington, the history of New England, and the incredible beauty of the Vermont landscape. With mountains, lake and one of the most vibrant downtown centers in the country, this is a fabulous place to live a full and enriching life.”
