Karl Klein
Realtor/Broker
Since discovering the Mad River Valley in 2002, Karl Klein has built a career and a life rooted in service, community, and connection. After relocating from San Diego to purchase and renovate the 1824 House Inn in Waitsfield, Karl transformed the historic property into a beloved local eatery before turning his passion for hospitality into a career in real estate.
Formerly with Sugarbush Real Estate, Karl managed the historic Sugarbush Village office and became a National Association of Realtors–certified Residential and Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS), reflecting his expertise in both full-time residences and Vermont vacation homes. Recognizing the complexity of the market and the desire to elevate the client experience, Karl joined Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman in 2025, expanding the firm’s presence with a real estate sales center in Waitsfield.
Karl believes that service, communication, and integrity form the foundation of long-term client relationships. His background as a remodeling contractor provides unique insight for buyers and sellers alike, offering practical guidance on construction, renovation, and home value.
Dedicated to his community, Karl has served as Chair of the Waitsfield Planning Commission, a member of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce, a two-term president and active Rotary Club volunteer, and a performer and supporter of the Valley Players Theater. Karl currently serves on the Board of Directors for Neck of the Woods, a local non-profit childcare center.
Outside of real estate, Karl can often be found in his Fayston workshop crafting custom furniture or exploring the beauty of the Valley he proudly calls home.
