Prior to her career in real estate, Theresa worked in human resources and benefits for well-known Vermont companies, Ben & Jerry’s and Seventh Generation. Her experience recruiting and retaining employees have been beneficial, particularly working with clients who are moving to the area for a new career. Theresa understands, first hand, the process and considerations a job candidate goes through. That experience has helped prepare her to advocate for her real estate clients while demonstrating empathy and understanding for a transition someone goes through when deciding to make a move. Investing in professional development and continuing education has always been important to Theresa. As a REALTOR, she successfully achieved the Accredited Buyer Representative, Seller Representative Specialist certifications, and Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation enabling her to better assist buyers and sellers. She is also a volunteer on the Education Committee for Northwest Vermont Board of REALTORS. Her real estate business includes first time buyers, sellers, property investors, and relocating clients. Theresa is what real estate agents should be - friendly, organized, detail oriented, focused, not greedy, not pushy, looking at the big picture and not just trying to close a sale. It isn't easy to be a good real estate agent as there is so much pressure on any sales person to close sales but unfortunately many sales do not work out in the benefit of the buyer or seller as much as the agent. A good agent will try hard to put themselves in the position of the buyer or seller who could be making a financial mistake. I have had competent real estate agents in the past but a really good agent will encourage a prospective buyer to keep looking or continue to take offers if they truly think that is what is best for their client. An excellent agent will know more about the market than their customer and will need to share this information. Of course the customer is responsible for their own decisions but I feel that if I had had Theresa as my agent I would not have sold a previous condo at the price I did - I believe she would have found a way to encourage me to wait and get the best price possible. Theresa's' experience in other careers is of great benefit to her. She is a true professional and a very intelligent and hard working realtor. Anyone is lucky to work with her.
